Uncover our story
I have been following the Pacers Motorcycle Club on Facebook for a few years now, and I truly enjoy seeing all the old photos and hearing the stories shared here. I want to thank those who started and built this group, including Karl and Howard Guillory.
I was a member from January 1979 through June 1980, and I had the honor of serving as President of the club at Kadena AB, Okinawa from January to June 1980. The only members here today who were part of the club during my time are:
Hirotaka Matsuda, Kevin Berentsen, Larry Berentsen, Lon Kinder, Rick Felkins, and Jimmy Gibson.
My mentors and biggest supporters while serving as President were:
Mr. Berentsen, Mr. Gibson, Mr. Kinder, Mr. Pollone, Mr. Matsuda, Mr. “Bike” Tatsu, and Mr. Kikuzato.
I can’t begin to describe the friendship, support, and camaraderie I experienced as a Pacer. I was just a novice racer, but you all made me feel like I was chasing DeCoster and Hannah every time I lined up on the gate. Those memories will stay with me forever.
As a small way of giving back, I have secured this website.
This site is not meant to replace the Pacers Motorcycle Club Facebook group, but to serve as a place where we can preserve and organize our history. My goal is to build a searchable archive and create a page for each member where they can share their bio, racing memories, photos, and stories from their time on Okinawa. Members can also contribute to the general history and media archives.
